about
"Wait, Create" was written about getting out of my own head and just being the artist I’m supposed to be. It’s so easy to get distracted, overworked, and burnt out in this high-paced world, but this song reminds me to step back and be an artist.
I was also inspired by a quote from “Avengers: End Game” where Tony Stark quotes his father - “No amount of money ever bought a second of time.” I use this in the chorus of the song because it’s very moving. I hope this song gets people dancing, singing along, and feeling happy.
Jake Navarro inspired a lot of the creative process, helping me with the overall groove and tone of the song. In its early stage, we brought it to Anthony who helped us arrange it and pushed us in the right direction. We're very proud of this.
lyrics
“And the years roll on and they grow old
And by and by, they forget everything
Even about their dreams
Oh I don’t want to be like that
I want to be somebody
Oh yes, oh yes, you want to be somebody
But you want it to be easy”
Wait, create, and multiply
If they do it, so can I
Money don’t buy one second of time
I don’t need competition
I need happiness, whatever that is but
If I’m there I’m winning
My time ain’t tickin’
Wait
Gotta get my jeans on
‘Cause nothing’s gon’ happen without those things on
Gotta get a little uncomfortable and anything is possible, yeah
What we did, whhatever we are
Ain’t what I’m used to
But I’m still lovin it
Took all day but finally had it my way
Took control of the force
Need a new course
Yeah
I want my soul on fire
I want my soul on fire
Like that bass line
Like a good rhyme
Make it clear
Make it loud for the people in the back to hear (in the back to hear)
Wait, create, and multiply
If they do it, so can I
Money don’t buy one second of time
I don’t need competition
I need happiness, whatever that is but
If I’m there I’m winning
My time ain’t tickin’
Rewind (rewind)
Can we define (can we define)
A known time (a known time)
When we coul really say that we were free
Or is now the most that we will ever be?
And now I’m running my mouth
Can’t tire from the work when I’m stuck on the couch
Got a first class ticket to figure it out
And God knows the opportunity that’s coming about, yeah
I want my soul on fire
I want my soul on fire
Like that bass line
Like a good rhyme
Make it clear
Make it loud for the people in the back to hear (in the back to hear)
"Everyone in this world who has ever dreamed about better things has been laughed at
Don't you know that?
Oh I suppose I do but
But there's a difference between dreaming and doing
The dreamers just sit around and whoo about how wonderful it would be if only things were different"
Wait, create, and multiply
If they do it, so can I
Money don’t buy one second of time
I don’t need competition
I need happiness, whatever that is but
If I’m there I’m winning
My time ain’t tickin’
Time
Wait, create, and multiply
If they do it, so can I
Money don’t buy one second of time
I don’t need competition
I need happiness, whatever that is but
If I’m there I’m winning
My time ain’t tickin’
Time ain't tickin'
Wait, create, and multiply
Wait-wait create and multiple
(But you want it to be easy)
