I always smile when I think about this song because of its origins. Somewhere in my Logic sessions and voice memos I have the original demo for this, which was a country song. I’m not a country writer by any means, I just though the chords and melody I had in mind fit that genre. I showed it to Anthony and he helped me with the verses. We didn’t intend on using it for Enrose, but then I fell in love with it so I re-worked it into something more groovy, rhythmic, and soulful. I took a lot of inspiration from Sting and Brandford Marsalis for this one.
